This year’s ‘Spring Festival’ went marvelously well! The event was held in Worldwise Café, celebrating the Chinese year of the Horse. The celebration invited some of the Korean exchange students who participated in the different traditional activities such as ‘bean picking with chop sticks’, face painting, Chinese calligraphy, ‘hoop around the bottle’, Chinese music from students and some delicious Japanese food made by Tako Horton. Not to forget the scrumptious chocolate cake made by Delia Jackson!
The occasion included some short presentations that gave insight about the Chinese New Year from three different cultures, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, each giving their traditional views on the special occasion and how they celebrate it. The event was an excellent way to make friends with people from different backgrounds and a chance to learn about the different cultures. Here are some pictures that were taken at the event. Happy New Year!
