Worldwise LinGO Award (Deadline Extended)

The deadline for the Worldwise LinGO Award has now been extended up until the 1st of March. The Award offers funding of up to £500 towards the cost of travel, accommodation and tuition/work practice in a location where your target language is predominantly used. All students currently enrolled on any of our foreign language courses, including the Applied Languages and Worldwise Language Advantage Programmes, can apply for a chance to receive one of only 20 scholarships for travelling to countries outside the UK for an intensive language practice or study course.

travel-around-the-worldThe period of practice/work/study must be at least 2 weeks with evidence of intensive engagement in the target language (at least 20 hours/week). All trips must be completed between the 1st of April and the 31st of July 2013.

Eligible students can apply to travel to any destination they would like (provided this meets the LinGO Travel Award requirements). The Worldwise Learning Centre can also provide advice on available intensive language study/practice opportunities at our established educational and professional partners.

You will be required to submit a proposal to us detailing where you wish to go and what you hope to achieve during your time there as well as a supporting letter from your language tutor.

Feel free to take a look at some of the blogs written by past recipients of The LinGO Award, and see how you too could make the most of your language learning potential this spring/summer. The trip would provide a great addition to your CV, demonstrating your passion and self-motivation to further your language skills and expand your cultural knowledge.
